How can you not love Ghana? Everything is just amazing. We adore the food, people, music, the culture, the art and many more! This September, we present to you two events with payments powered by Flutterwave happening in Ghana.

The Black Star International Film Festival

The Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) is organised by the Black Star International Film Institute, founded in 2015, with the vision of positioning Ghana as a film tourist destination through BSIFF and causing industry change through relevant film advocacy.

Ms Philippa Ama Bentuma Arthur, the Manager of the Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) said that,

“The present pandemic affords BSIFF a great opportunity to push strongly to become better and not cower innovatively. And it is with this determination the Festival decided not to cancel but to continue, albeit, online.”

“Connect” will be no different from the on-ground experience of the film festival in Ghana. Annual activities within the Festival like film screenings, masterclasses, panel sessions and the BlackStar Music Concert will all happen online.

Ms Arthur added that the vision of BSIFF to position Ghana as a film hub, a film tourism destination, and bridge the gap between African cinema and the world through film is bigger than COVID-19 and hence, must soldier on.

There is no better time than now to be inspired by the talented young filmmakers’ whose films made it into the competition this year; there is no better time than now to connect with BSIFF and learn, network and do business online.

This virtual festival edition of the Festival is dubbed, “Connect,” and it is expected to take place from 24th to 27th of September 2020. Four solid days of connecting international and local stakeholders via virtual platforms.

“Connect” will run on the official websites of BSIFF and their social media platforms. Visit www.bsiff.org and www.africafilmmarket.com to sign up for the event. Call or WhatsApp +233 506481853 for enquiries.

The Vegan Brunch

As event organisers in Ghana begin to plan and host events and gatherings, and most importantly taking into consideration preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 such as limited seatings and well-spaced and socially distanced participants, The Ghanaian Vegan has its first event. Whoever you are on your plant-based journey, The Ghanaian Vegan invites you to come and enjoy some good food and great company. This event is a vegan brunch hosted at Palm Moments, featuring a menu carefully curated. Each ticket includes 3 courses made using fresh and locally sourced ingredients and two drinks.

“When I began my journey, I found it difficult to participate in some special events because there weren’t many vegan-friendly options available: a big reason why I decided to host this brunch” – Zulfiquer Gbedemah (Founder of The Ghanaian Vegan)
