Our mission is to simplify payments for endless possibilities, and every day, we build new solutions, seek opportunities, and partnerships to ensure we consistently deliver on the promise we made to our merchants. When it comes to payment collection, we believe businesses should not be limited by borders or payment methods.
Today, we are further simplifying payments for endless possibilities by introducing our Static and Dynamic Virtual Accounts service to Flutterwave merchants in and outside Ghana.
This new feature enables Ghanaian customers to pay Flutterwave merchants using the popular Pay With Bank Transfer (PWBT) payment method. PWBT is one of the most popular payment methods on the Flutterwave payment infrastructure, offering a truly seamless, secure, and fast way to complete payments.
With this innovative feature, we are adding to the growing list of payment methods Ghanaian customers can use when paying Flutterwave merchants, including mobile money, debit & credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc.
What are these Virtual Accounts?
Our Ghanaian Virtual Accounts service enables Flutterwave merchants to generate both static and dynamic virtual accounts via our API. These virtual accounts enable their customers to make payments directly via bank transfers or mobile money.
- Dynamic Virtual Accounts: These accounts are generated for one-time transactions on checkout. This type of virtual account powers our Pay With Bank Transfer payment method. Customers see the virtual account details on the checkout page and must transfer the exact amount due to that account for the transaction to be successful.
- Static Virtual Accounts: These accounts can be used for recurring payments or when you need to assign a unique account to a customer.
Both virtual account types offer you greater flexibility and control for your business.
How These Virtual Accounts Will Improve Your Payment Experience
- Seamless & Secure Payments: Your customers can easily and securely pay you using the bank transfer payment method. They have to authorize the transactions from their bank app or mobile money platform, reducing the risk of fraudulent transactions.
- Reduced Errors: Dynamic virtual accounts ensure that customers pay the exact amount, minimizing discrepancies and refund requests.
- Swift Settlement: Payments completed using the Pay With Bank Transfer method are settled in 24 hours, faster than other payment methods. Faster settlements lead to increased cash flow.
- Increased Transaction Limits: With the Pay With Bank Transfer method, your customers have a higher transaction limit of GHS 2,000,000 compared to the GHS 25,000 limit available for the mobile money payment method. The higher limit will improve their experience when completing high transactions.
- Scalability: Whether you’re a small business or a large enterprise, Ghana Virtual Accounts can scale with you to meet your needs. Generate single or bulk static accounts via API, as your business requires.
- Easy Integration: Easily integrate this new feature and begin generating virtual accounts for your customers via our API. Visit our API Documentation to get started.
- E-Levy Considerations: To improve your customers’ experience, we’ve built in notifications to remind them of E-Levy charges on qualifying transactions.
