The constant change and progress in technology have broken down the boundaries of work. Freelancing has become such a big deal around the world; people can log on to different freelancing platforms to get jobs, do them, get paid and continue to the next job. The same goes for remote work; many people across the globe work remotely from their homes, cafes or co-working spaces for local & international companies. The COVID-19 pandemic has also fast-tracked the concept of remote work for many companies who had been courting the idea.

In Africa, a lot of people work remotely or are freelancers who work based on tasks. One common issue they face is payments, getting paid via their bank account tends to be tedious, taking too long or not working at all.
