Making young Africans resilient and happy | The Joy Hub – Rave Business Stories

There is a huge epidemic of depression and mental health issues across Nigeria, which is also a leading cause for mental disability worldwide. This has led to the birth of The Joy Hub – a non-judgemental, safe mental health space where young Nigerians dealing with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts can get mental health first aid and advice.

In order to facilitate this in the best way, they have partnered with an NGO called Olamma Cares Foundation; a not for profit organization established with an aim of encouraging the social acceptance of Autism, Neurological and Mental Disorders through creating awareness, and finding/implementing suitable long term solutions/treatments for these disorders.

Their vision is to build a hub within every walking distance for young people across West Africa from now until 2035. Joy hub is raising the sum of 15 million naira to run their pilot hub in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria and to create more hubs across West Africa to ensure immediate access to help and support for young people.
