We’ve been lucky enough to partner with amazing businesses including Transferwise, a UK-based money transfer service; Flywire, a crossborder payment platform serving international students and patients on six continents; and Kiki Kamanu, an international fashion label serving customers in Nigeria, and the United States. And now, we’re excited about our newest partnership with OjaExpress, an online marketplace for small grocers that sell ethnic groceries.
The word ‘Oja’ is Yoruba for ‘market’.
OjaExpress, a business headquartered in Chicago, IL, helps their customers, who have a taste for ethnic spices and foods, shop from their favorite culture grocers. Their business also provides a platform for small ethnic grocers to sell their foods online, and also attract new customers in an easy and seamless way.
OjaExpress was founded in 2015 by Boyede Sobitan (Co-founder/CEO), and Fola Dada (Co-founder/CTO), and their business currently operates in Chicago and the DMV area, with plans to expand to more cities in the United States and Canada.
OjaExpress uses Rave by Flutterwave to collect payments from their customers abroad, and anyone visiting the U.S from Africa can order locally, pay with their local currency card, and have their groceries delivered to them upon arrival. Or if you are a parent with a student abroad, you can assist them with their grocery shopping remotely.
OjaExpress values the service they provide to their customers from when they place an order online to when their items are delivered to their doors. We’re excited to provide OjaExpress with a payment solution and we’re looking forward to helping them expand in the future.
“Flutterwave is a payments technology company on a mission to connect YOU to the global economy, while OjaExpress mission is to connect you with food from around the world.. Seems like an appropriate match.” – Boyede, CEO.
